This Mizuno Prospect is going to be one of the absolute best gloves for a player just starting to fall in love with the game of baseball. It is made of pigskin, which makes it very soft to the touch. Thanks to the V Flex notch near the heel of the glove, it should be very easy to close it right out of the box. Glove-wise, we recommend this 11.50-inch model for use by players ages 7 to 12, but it can also be used by 5- and 6-year-olds!

The Acadia glove gives the young baseball player a professional look for under a hundred dollars. The glove’s shell leather is made from full grain cowhide to give the leather a rich look. It will also have I-Web, the most popular network for senior indoor players. Regardless of how this glove looks on the inside, it can be used anywhere on the diamond by a young baseball player. Finally, to give the glove a sleeker look, Marucci designed it with pink on the outside of the glove and an M-Type fitting that removes the thumb loops.

“My 9 year old son loves it. It’s his first ‘real’ glove. Easy to close. Looks sharp. Holds everything. But I liked the minimal break-in time.” – JG customer, Justin

This fastpitch glove is priced under $100, but don’t think twice about the quality. Check out what one of our customers had to say…

“Not cheaply made. Great glove for playing games. Not just a kid’s glove, but a gamer’s glove.”

Rawlings 2022 Playmaker Series Baseball Glove, Camel/navy, 11.5 Inch, Right Hand Throw

If you want quality and don’t want to break the bank, this A500 siren is definitely the way to go. Wilson designed it for younger players (we recommend ages 7-12), but the customer quoted above thought you could use it for at least a few years after a player’s 12-year-old season.

In today’s ball glove world, things seem to be getting more expensive, especially if it’s an adult glove. However, Mizuno can still produce this long 13-inch glove for older fastball players and sell it for under $100. This glove is designed for ease of use and features lightweight, full-grain leather. Being 13 inches long, it doesn’t weigh much, and the glove has a V Flex groove near the heel. The V Flex groove makes squeezing the glove very easy and is a big part of why the glove requires very little break in during this stage.

If you want to enjoy weekly league games during the summer, the Rawlings RSB Slow Pitch Glove is the way to roll! Not only can you get it for under $100, but you also don’t have to hang around for long in the process. Doug, I love your insight…the glove/glove breaking question comes to mind with a lower glove that doesn’t have leather. up to the task – how broken is it? I didn’t play at an elite level, nor did I hold the gloves of an elite player. I don’t know when the glove is broken, nor when the glove is broken. I got a Rawlings HoH mitt for myself this past year and we made a special 1B mitt, also HoH, for my 12 year old for Christmas. I’m pretty sure his glove is properly broken in to use…I’m hoping to spend some time on the game day bubble over Christmas break so he can catch balls from the machine…Thanks, Jason

How To Measure For A Little League Baseball Glove

Good question!!! Do you like the HOH Rawlings gloves? Personally, I love myself very much. Gloves are a personal preference, but I know a lot of people who love these gloves, and I hope yours look good on you.

I’ve played with guys who get new gloves and they play with it once and use it in a game that night.

On the other hand, it would take me about a year to get the gloves to think about it. I think most people are in the middle.

The most important thing for me is how the glove grips the ball. Is the ball in my pocket when I catch the ball? Does it go out or is the leather too weak to slide over the ball because the leather fingers are too soft?

For me, if my fingers feel too soft and the balls I usually hold are sticking out the top, I want to tighten the laces.

I replaced the gloves that I used in games for 4 years. After each season, my teardrops had leather patches. I stayed with this glove for a long time because I liked the way it gripped the balls.

I’ve had gloves that made it easy to grip the ball, and some gloves feel like they’re doing too much to grip the ball.

Be sure to lubricate your gloves from time to time, especially in dry areas of the country. The need for oiling can vary from once a week to once a month depending on the humidity of where you live.

How To Break In A Catchers Mitt

For glove care I use Lexol spray, saddle soap or mink oil. Lexol is my favorite. The minimal oil will take some time to absorb and any excess may need to be removed the next day before the game. Sal soap is also great. It’s so easy that you may need to do it often. But the advantage of using saddle soap on baseball gloves is that there is no residue.

I change the gloves when the leather seems weak to not stick to my hard drive gloves.

Sometimes, too, if the ball is held closer to the fingers than the pocket and the leather gives too much, the ball won’t set.

If the ball feels like it’s going through your glove, in fact the glove isn’t strong enough to catch a hard throw or hard ball, that’s a big indicator that it’s time to replace it.

There isn’t a right or wrong answer to your question, but as long as the glove holds up well, the laces are tightened to your liking, and you oil the glove occasionally, the glove should last a while.
