Use a kitchen scale to measure 20 ounces of soy wax flakes to make 2 candles. Or use this candle tip to find the right amount for your containers.

To safely melt wax, pour a measured amount of soy wax into a candle melting pitcher. Place the pitcher full of wax inside a large pot filled with about 2 inches of water. Using the double boiler method, heat over medium to low heat with a slow simmer on high. Stir frequently with a metal whisk or heat-resistant silicone spatula.

Remove the pitcher from the heat immediately after melting to prevent the wax from getting too hot or burning. Then clip a candle thermometer inside the jug to monitor. Or use a non-contact infrared thermometer.
