Here Are The Best New Books To Read In February 2022
Welcome to @tnight’s Spooky Sparks inspiration. This is the fall series I will be posting throughout this spooky month. Link and Read… Autumn. Three months of the year are between the long sunny days of summer and the cold, dark days of winter. It is always my favorite time of year for many reasons. It starts with my birthday in September, runs through Halloween in October and Bonfire Night in November…and lots of other things in between!
After summer salads and barbecues, autumn heralds the arrival of casseroles, stews and comforting cakes. I’m definitely not the type to curl up on the couch with a delicious plate of comfort food! It may be dark and cold outside, but snuggled up under a blanket, on a comfy sofa, in front of the TV, it’s a pleasant way to spend an evening.

Fall Leaves: Love ’em And Leave ’em
It is strange that even though the leaves on the trees are dying, they look very beautiful. With shades of red, orange and gold, a tree is one of the most beautiful things in the world in autumn. We have a vine at the bottom of our garden and it went crazy this summer, really taking over the back and side fence…meaning we had a wonderful display of rust colored leaves to see this fall without going anywhere. .
I think the weather is a bit cooler, the nature is changing and a walk in the park is wonderful at this time of the year! And there’s always plenty to forage like conchs, acorns, mushrooms (although we never eat what we find, we don’t want them to poison us all!), fallen leaves, dandelion puffs, pine cones… last week. We went for a walk in the park with my nephew and we had a lot of fun finding nature’s treasures! He was fascinated by the things we could find and see. And of course, an autumn walk is not complete without rustling under the fallen leaves.
In addition to our vines, we also have sashar trees that provide plenty of blackberries from late summer into fall. This year, we decided to turn soft fruit into jam, something we’ve never done before…it was so good!
I Worked At Disney World — Favorite Things To Do In The Fall
Probably my favorite thing about fall! We all know Halloween (check out Crafty October) and pumpkins! We love visiting the local farm store this time of year, as they sell giant pumpkins, as well as a variety of oddly shaped pumpkins. Of course I have a pumpkin, or three (or more! And cook with them), decorate the house for Halloween, and even have a party.
As the last month of autumn begins, November 5th brings Bonfire Night/Guy Fawkes Night. We always light a fire, pop some marshmallows, eat more comfort food and light fireworks in celebration. By this time, the weather is usually more bitter, dark and gloomy…and it’s a part of fall that I don’t like very much, especially as I’m older and have suffered from SAD in recent years. But writing this post and sharing pictures of things I love reminds me why there are so many reasons to love fall!

What is your favorite thing about fall? I think we are now officially in autumn. My hands, feet and carbs tell me so. Meteorologically autumn begins on September 1st but astronomically it does not begin until the equinox of September 22nd. However, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Mother Nature is in charge. He is the one who decides when the seasons begin. And I think the fall has been pushed earlier this year.
Ways To Show Mom You Appreciate Her
About mid-August the blackberries were here and with the color change on the trees, the beautiful bright conkers arrived as soon as the calendar turned from August to September.
Apparently, spring came 21 days earlier and therefore later than the rest of the year. (For that matter, this year’s winter is going to be tough: cold, wet, and prone to flooding. Check out this chap’s weather page, where he predicts the weather pretty accurately and in advance of what nature tells us. )
1. Autumn feels like the real me. This feeling creeps in and takes over many parts of my personality. My inspiration, my creativity, and my writing are best in the fall. I feel re-energized, rejuvenated and clear about what I want to do. In the summer I give my brain a rest. Autumn is when I put my ideas into practice.

You only have to look at my Instagram feed to see how I capture my favorite season in my pictures.
2. Hibernating. Since we’ve made some changes in our house this year, I haven’t been doing the chores and tasks I normally do in the garden. However, I feel the stress of mowing, tidying and weeding. Fall is when these thankless tasks begin to diminish. And next year I promise to be more. I know nettles are good for nature but honestly they drive me crazy!
3. Comfort food. Proper Nutrition Soups, stews, slow roasts, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, jacket potatoes, root vegetables, shepherd’s pie, gravy, cauliflower cheese, leeks in white sauce, Brussels sprouts.

4. Cold. Yes, you read that right, I love the cold. Because bathing is so much better. The mattresses are comfortable and not suffocating. You can’t take bath in summer. You end up sweating. You can’t have a thick quilt in summer with a nice bed cover. But in the fall you can have both.
5. Heat. Yes, a hot tub. But also the heat of the fire and the smell of wood smoke. It is a delicious combination. Throw in some lamps, some cushions and blankets, a hot drink and a good book and you basically have heaven.
6. Early in the morning. As the sun rises. It’s crisp, you can see your breath puffing, there’s dew on the cobwebs, crisp leaves under your feet. With fame

7. Orange and brown. I have never thought so much about orange at any time of the year. But as the season approaches I find myself drawn to orange mugs, books and notebooks. And my hair color turns brown.
8. Layers. Dresses, with tights, sheer tops with a cozy chunky cardi underneath. Finished off with a nice pair of shoes.
9. Socks. Give me all the thick socks. I’m obsessed with Joules’ fab fluffy socks.
