Emotion Wheel – I use the HS Emotion Wheels, Needs Wheels, and Turning Emotion into Action (TEA) activities every day in my work with patients in clinical settings and with mental health technicians. We love what you submit. I make sure every patient in my unit has these.

When I came across the HS Emotion Wheels and the TEA worksheets…I felt like I broke through a plateau I’d been struggling with for a long time when it came to understanding my emotions. A weight lifted off of me instantly…I woke up feeling better than I had in weeks. The HS Emotions Wheel has finally given me a handle on my “things” and the HS Needs Wheel has been very helpful in preparing stories for those “things” anyway. Just by having these tools, I experienced an immediate change in understanding. Problem “I’ll sit here and think hard and long and maybe I’ll figure it out.”

“Being autistic means that we often struggle to sort out our emotions, even when we don’t have a traumatic life behind us.” I have shared your page in a post on my blog. HS Emotion Wheels are unique and very useful! I just shared with others. Thanks for providing them, it’s a very useful tool!

The Emotion Wheel: Primary Emotions, Benefits & How To Use It!

HS Emotions and Needs Wheels will be very helpful in my practice as Dr. Peters clear way to know what we feel and need. I work with individuals and families to identify the source of their problems from a holistic perspective. Identifying and connecting with our emotions and needs is central to my work.

Emotion Wheel

Emotional granularity is the ability to say what you feel. Either you get angry, or you feel it

According to research Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett About Emotion When we experience an event, our brains respond with a combination of thoughts and physical sensations informed by our past experiences and current environment. We can use emotional words to describe and process a combination of thoughts, physical sensations, past experiences, and current environment. We can often consciously choose the right mental words for our experiences and feelings before we are fully aware of our physical thoughts and feelings. We can use the word emotional to express more about how our thoughts are influenced by our thoughts, physical feelings, and past experiences. We can use our emotional vocabulary to learn where our needs are not being met and how to adjust our behavior or environment to meet our needs and create more positive emotions than negative emotions – this is called “emotional beauty”. ” Watch the worksheet or video “Turning Emotions into Action” on how to use information from your emotions to make positive changes in yourself and your environment.

Emotional intelligence is a great skill because choosing the right emotion words will help you process and describe what’s happening inside and outside your body. The better your emotional language, the more likely you are to choose an emotional word that matches your feelings and the better the experience.

Emotion Wheel

I didn’t invent the idea of a sensory wheel – it’s been around for years – but I did invent it. I chose new emotions for the center of the wheel based on my own research and a classification process. I made three wheels: HS Emotion Wheel I for beginners (including children); HS Emotion Wheel II, an intermediate selection; and HS Emotion Wheel III (my first offering). For the HS Emotion Wheel III, I divided the emotion wheel into two sections: one with negative emotions and one with warm emotions. Division allows double number of impulses to be selected. If you’d like, you can try the Human Systems Virtual Emotion Wheel, which includes all the emotions from the HS Emotion Wheel III, along with their definitions and a brief lesson on how we create emotions. Watch a video on how I made the HS Emotion Wheels.

1) For HS Emotion Wheels I and II, start in the middle and determine if you are on the “unhappy” or “comfortable” side. For the HS Emotion Wheel III, choose the wheel – positive or negative – that reflects your emotions. You may have both good and bad feelings – that’s okay too.

2) On HS Emotion Wheels I and II, select an emotion in the middle ring of the semicircle that matches your emotion (positive or negative). In the HS Emotion Wheel III, select an emotion (positive or negative) in the center of the wheel of your choice that matches your emotions.

3) On HS Emotion Wheels I and II, you can look at the outer ring for a special feeling based on your preference. In the HS Emotion Wheel III, the middle ring has special emotions associated with the one you’ve chosen, and the outer ring has special emotions.

4) Some people like to start with the outer ring of a wheel and “explore” the feel until they find someone to listen – you can do that too.

How To Use A Wheel Of Emotions —and Why You Should

I have received several requests for translated versions of HS Emotion Wheels and Needs Wheels. Because of the cultural power of emotion, an accurate translation of the HS Emotion Wheel into, say, Spanish, may not be as accurate as the original to English. If you search the Internet for “non-English words,” you can begin to get an idea of the cultural context of the emotion—thousands of words heard in other languages that have no English equivalent. If you want information on how I created my HS Emotion Wheels and Needs Wheels and a better understanding of culture, you can watch my YouTube video.

I love my version of the HS Emotion Wheels and Needs Wheels that reflect the culture of the language. So if you’re interested in a translation and want to collaborate on the process of creating a custom-made sensory wheel or need wheels in another language, I’d love to hear from you. In addition to the HS Emotion Wheels, we also have two Human System Needs Wheels, which can help you identify the unexpressed needs of your chosen emotion. These wheels, one for beginners and one for more experienced people to identify emotions and needs, are helpful when you use the “Turn Emotions into Action” worksheet.

In addition to physical needs, which are not included in this wheel because we think those needs are met outside of organizations, people need a flexible balance of individuality and sense of belonging as well as security and growth. After many upgrades, there are often security requirements that need to be met. When we spend more time expressing ourselves, we may have a special need to come forward.

The wheel of human needs works like the wheel of human emotions. You start in the middle with which set of needs is most pressing for you – personal, safety, relationship or growth – and then look at the special needs of that quarter. You can also try the Special Needs Wheel (based on the HS Needs Wheel II), which, like the Urgent Needs Wheel, guides you through the process of choosing the best word for your specific needs and includes information.
