Sketchbook Drawings – There is a well-known image of a “real” artist always carrying a sketchbook and putting paint on their clothes. I’ve been an artist all my life, but this never happened to me. I love working in my niche and always enjoy drawing in public.
When I decided to go all out with the botanical art journey, I realized I was missing a part of my practice. One day I discovered a personal sketchbook that collected simple drawings of plants I wanted to paint.

So I got a simple A6 Leuchtturm 1917 sketchbook and decided to spend some time sketching plants I liked or found during my summer travels. I want to have a creative routine that doesn’t require a lot of time. That said, we want to provide a very simple and natural approach to linear and free-flow testing.

While drawing from real life, it’s “stop and smell the roses”; Memory is like capturing a moment or a beautiful place you visited or something you noticed. I think this experience gives me an opportunity to appreciate nature. Write notes about the appearance of the plant. Add colors, you can even write a serious naturalist’s journal.
Learning about the entire universe of plants and creating beautiful art takes it to another level when art is personal. Creating more personal pieces will always be on my list of goals and prioritized if possible.
