I worked at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for two years and it was a dream come true.
I often look back on the things that made it so special, but as with any job, I’m happy with some of the things I’ve finished.

One of my favorite things about the Disney Junior Dance Party at Hollywood Studios was seeing the kids’ eyes light up when they saw Mickey Mouse on stage. They would shout, “It’s Mickey!” and waving or jumping up and down to get his attention.
It really was full circle because it was amazing to be a small part of the same magic I experienced when I was a kid going to the park.
A Place Where Everyone Is Welcome
Every job I’ve had has always been a “work family,” but I’ve never felt that way at Disney.
Every place I’ve worked in the parks I’ve felt like part of the family. There is something special about the Disney community that made it very easy for me to get along with my colleagues and become friends.
As many of my colleagues, like myself, moved away from family and friends to work in the parks, people really wanted to spend time outside of work and create a home away from home.

Whenever there was downtime at one of my locations, our managers would have us do “magic moments” including hula hooping with the kids, blowing bubbles, handing out stickers, selling pins, or letting guests through the FastPass lines.
