Naturalchristmasdecoratingideasforthehome – It’s officially the Christmas season and I’ve been decorating a lot of houses for the holidays. This year I took a simpler approach, including using lots of fresh flowers and things I own. I love twinkling lights and the magic they create. Read on to see a few areas of our home, as well as some of my friends’ homes decorated, as we continue to participate in our home series seasons. I love decorating the kitchen! Simple touches that add holiday spirit to a space without being too obvious. The new pine, bells and small tree on the open shelves are my favorite details.

Our kitchen is still a working kitchen. Open shelves hold our glasses and cups. Rolling pins sitting in the corner we can easily attend them to cook all the holidays. Wooden spoons and knives are ready along with salt, oil and spices. I like to add beauty but also keep it functional.

For this area of ​​our home, I used lots of fresh flowers from Lynch Creek Farms. Beautiful cedar flowers that bring a wonderful scent to the house. I added mercury flowers and antique bells. Mismatched metals are something I love to do, and since I didn’t want to buy anything new, I mixed up what I had.

Our dining room has a large mirror over our buffet. I wrapped more rope and added blue ribbon to the corner. Simple and elegant at the same time. In the corner is the king of the Christmas tree, which I really like. It comes preheated, making it easy to assemble and can be used year after year. I love new trees too, but for the big trees in our house, I like trees that I know we can enjoy all season long.

The reading part is my favorite part! It is soft and full of natural light. I put all my wood in the corner and even added a little craft that Ava made while playing with her cousins. In case you couldn’t tell, it’s a Christmas tree. I love creating small spaces that are personalized and full of character.

This probably goes against the grain, but I decided not to add any ornaments or decorations to our tree this year. I love a beautiful tree and just a light bulb. Our living room is a 12 foot pre-lit tree from Costco. We have very high ceilings and so I wanted a very tall tree. We had a native tree here before, but it was hard to find one tall enough to keep safely in our living room. So it’s a lie!
