Dollar Store Diy Halloween Decorations – Honestly, I might skip the fall decorations this year and go straight to Halloween! someone else?! It is the last Thursday of every month. That said, it’s time for another edition of My Dollar Store DIY. Many of us find fun and cheap stuff at our local dollar store to make DIY sequins. This month’s theme is Halloween!
I wanted to make something fun for boys to enjoy, so I thought a hanging or “floating” project would be really cute. The finished project ended up in the dining room hanging from a chandelier and you can see spider webs all over the house!

1 // Heat up a hot glue gun and draw a line of glue on the bottom of the shiny skull and shiny owl creations and place it in the center of one of the spider web baskets. My pupil has an on/off switch for the light so I can access it from the bottom of the basket. The hole is too small to turn on and off with your fingers, but it is large enough to fit a pen or toothpick.

2 // Next decide how high you want to hang the net and cut the exact length of string to the desired length. Pass the string through the bottom of the second basket and tie a knot. This is the top of the cobweb. Anything with a creature in it serves as the bottom part.
3 // Next cut four 6-8 inch strands. Pass one thread at a time through the top of the “lower” basket and loop it through the bottom of the upper basket to tie a knot. Repeat this 3 more times to secure the two baskets together using invisible thread, leaving a gap between them.
4 // Hang the web from a light fixture or ceiling [using the transparent command hooks I originally planned!] to the desired height. I made 2 nets so I used 4 baskets total and tied them both together so they don’t hang or float at the same height.

Seriously, I’m ready to share next week after a great fall itinerary. Made with burnt orange and berries in bronze and gold tones! Please look forward to it😉
