Method: Spread peanut butter on the patch and let it sit for at least five minutes. Depending on the thickness of the glue, it may take longer to absorb. Scrape the peanut butter and glue off the board with a spatula. Wash with soap and warm water.
How it went: It took a lot more than five minutes for the peanut butter oil I used to soak into the price tag, so I let it sit for another 30 minutes before testing it again and realizing it wasn’t going to do much good. . I wiped off the peanut butter and scraped off the paper with a spatula. So I tried the peanut butter again just on the remaining sticky residue. Peanut butter worked wonders! In about five minutes, the residue was completely gone. I don’t recommend this method for removing thick stickers or price tags, but it’s fantastic for removing residue. I will say it is a bit confusing though!
Method: Begin by removing as much of the glue as possible before mixing the coconut oil and baking soda paste. To make a paste, mix 2 parts baking soda with 1 part coconut oil. Spread liberally over the patch and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Apply the paste with your fingers to remove the glue. Wash with warm water and soap.
How it went: I tried to remove what was left of the sticker after letting the paste sit for 15 minutes, but nothing happened, so I let the paste sit for another 30 minutes. I was able to remove some of the glue, but it was clear that this method was best for removing the least amount of glue residue – and not much more. After a total of 45 minutes, I grabbed a spatula and managed to scrape off the remaining bits.

How it went: The sticker comes off easily, but it leaves marks. This was the easiest and cleanest way to remove most of the paper glue, but unfortunately it only did part of the job. This is a good method if you’re in a pinch, but it should definitely be followed up with, say, the peanut butter method to remove the residue.
