I recently gave a client a one-pager request that I would be the right writer for the job. I think it also applies here:
A homeless man told me this when I was eighteen, living on the streets of Los Angeles. I tried to give him my last hundred dollars. In two years, I traveled the world, experienced incredible stories, and became a full-time artist. I have never forgotten what he said, that man’s innate humanity is nothing to refuse a man who has more money than a long time.
What I have to give the world, I realized, are stories. I recently told this story – his story, mine and John McAfee’s book – The Man Who Robbed the World. I’ve been writing stories all my life, and I wrote my first “book” when I was eight years old; A one-page 33-page treatise on Jack the Ripper. By the time I was eighteen, I would have written a whole book. By the age of 22, I would write seven. Now in my 30s, I’ve written books across the spectrum of the human experience, always with a unique voice and a way to engage the reader from start to finish.

I don’t have a traditional education, and I don’t do ghostwriting traditionally. Amazingly, their practice has made a successful career out of a difficult and unforgiving industry foundation. I’ve written eight #1 Amazon sellers, featured on the #1 Netflix movie in the world within a day of its premiere, and haven’t had to advertise in seven years.
Now, I’m co-authoring a new fantasy series with J.D. Barker—James Patterson’s own author—and will probably hang up my gossip-writing hat in 2023 to devote all my time to teaching others to replicate what I’ve done. . That’s it, and writing books under my own name.
I’m sure I’m not the best artist out there, though there’s no certain measure in art. What I can say is that I work harder and more passionately than any writer I know (except J.D. Barker), and it shows in the work.

Our job is to tell the stories of people who don’t have the time or the skills to do it themselves.
How Do You Become A Ghostwriter?
For a broke and formerly homeless kid, two adults a month seemed like a mountain of money back then. But as I became more successful over the years, I realized that writing books takes a ton of work. The time required is equal to the hours the contractor builds the house. And when you think about it, that’s what ghostwriting is, but instead of building a house, it’s world building.
My rates are $100,000 to $250,000 per book, and instead of doing dozens of different projects each year, I get to cut a small number of projects that I love.
A new book writer – if he has written a good book and is a skilled writer – can get paid $15,000 per book. Maybe even $20,000.

Long-form content writing is different from short-form writing (structure, arc, pacing, etc.), so it’s important to start developing the experience of writing a book for the mind right away. The better you write, the more money you make. to make
Ghostwriting is not for everyone. It’s hard work, and while it’s very lucrative, it’s not a fast-paced type of work.
Book Coach & Ghost Writer
Becoming a professional writer is a dream for many people. It often evokes the feeling of a slow pace, sitting in an old cafe with a laptop, making big bucks.
Although this can happen often, when you’re traveling halfway around the world (like me) to interview your client.
It takes a lot of brain power to turn an interview session into a full book. If you put the conversation into book format, it will get around, and you’re less likely to get referrals from clients before you improve.
War Of The Words: Ghostwriters Vs Ai
Think of this list as part of your road map to success rather than a challenge.
1. You are not a very good listener. Listening is the #1 skill. If you are someone who talks all the time and doesn’t fully listen to others, this can be a big challenge for you. You need to quiet your inner thoughts (and ego) and listen fully to what the interviewer is saying.
Often clients miss the really important details of the story. You have to take them out and understand what is being said.

2. You’re only here for the money. Although ghostwriting can be very profitable, it won’t happen at first. So if you want to get into this business and make six figures right away, you may want to look elsewhere for passive income opportunities you can make from a tropical beach.
3. You are not ready to improve your business skills. Ghostwriting is a business. If you’re not ready to optimize your writing business—on top of writing—you’re going to fail with your startup.
4. You don’t give good interviews. If you have never given an interview before, this business will be difficult at first. But if you’re willing to learn these skills and get better at them, you can become an amazing coach.
What’s Ghostwriting? Is It Ethical? Is It Legal?
5. You cannot separate yourself and your personal associations. Ghostwriting is about people. No two people are the same. So if your political or religious affiliations cloud your judgment and make it difficult to put your ego aside, you should find another field to work in. To be unique as a ghostwriter, you need to make sure that the story you write reflects the human experience.
6. It takes you years to write a book. If you’re someone who’s been writing novels for the past ten years, this might not be the job for you. Your clients aren’t really excited about the long timeline, and you won’t make enough money to survive. While you don’t need to write 3+ books a year, time is money when it comes to ghostwriting.
7. Writing is not easy for you. There are a lot of ghostwriting books out there that are… well, ghostwriting. If you’re not a great writer, you’ll need to improve these skills before you even consider monetization. Practice until you are good at it.
