Books To Read This Year
Today’s blog post is a collection of books I’ve read in 2022 that earned a “B+” rating from me or better. As you can see below, I get an author kick and finish multiple books by the same author when I find a favorite winner. I’ve also been drawn to easy, fun reads this year so if you like those types of stories, you’re in luck! I hope you find something new to add to your reading list from the books mentioned below.

A Very Short Life was recommended by many of you and I am very excited to read it. It is an “A” book. A Very Short Life is like a romantic comedy in book form but with a lot of heart and soul. I like that!

The Best Books I Read In 2020.
I read this book in two sittings due to a long day traveling back and forth to Idaho last weekend. After reading and enjoying Final Girls by Riley Sager (in a twisted way) I had high hopes.
, a thriller from the same author. He hit it out of the park with this one and had me hooked on the story from the beginning. I love a good thrill and when it comes with not one but two big thrills, I’m even more excited.
The Last Time I Lied begins 15 years after the disappearance of Vivian, Natalie and Allison, three young women who, in the middle of the night, secretly leave Dogwood, their home at Camp Nightingale, and never came back. Emma meets three missing girls in Dogwood and is forever changed by the disappearance of her friends. Fifteen years later, Emma is a budding artist and unbeknownst to her clients, she is hiding her three lost friends in each painting. When the owner of Camp Nightingale buys one of Emma’s paintings and invites her back to the camp that still haunts her, Emma is conflicted.
My Favorite Books Of The Year
Finally, Emma agrees to attend the camp as an art teacher and is surprised to find Camp Nightingale unchanged. There’s his childhood sweetheart, there’s the mentor he remembers… but the security cameras pointing directly at his old apartment are new, as are the increasingly scary and suspicious things that start happening around him. I was completely captivated by Love and Other Words. The story goes back and forth from the past to the present as Macy Sorensen is reunited with her first love, Elliot Petropoulos. The two of them first met at a young age and bonded over a love of reading, a relationship that turned into something more as they grew up.
Fast forward eleven years and Macy and Elliot haven’t spoken until one night ten years ago that changed everything. When they bump into each other at a coffee shop, feelings quickly return – feelings that could change everything, including Macy’s engagement to a famous artist and a satisfying first man. his since Elliot.
Fiction Books Written By Black Women To Read This Year
The story is part beautiful and romantic but the part of the story that really grabbed my heart was how the author wrote about young love, early life and early relationships. . It was honest and clean and beautiful and I really enjoyed reading about Macy and Elliot’s love. As far as the story goes, the plot kept me engaged throughout but the final chapter of Love and Other Words is what I remember most about this romantic read.
After a few of you recommended Abby Jimenez books to me when I shared my blog post about recommended reading and I’m glad you did because I quite enjoyed the first book I read by this author! It *was* close to getting an “A” grade from me but the first half of the book was a little distracting at times. I feel like over 100 pages could have been removed because most of the book seemed to repeat the same situation of the two main characters with their internal struggles popping up over and over again.
(Also, for those struggling with anorexia, this book talks a lot about anorexia and, without sharing spoilers, I think this book is something you might want to avoid if you your heart is in a dangerous place right now.)
The Best Books I Read This Year [2022] — Crystal Rowe
Now to the story… It’s been a hot second since I loved the male lead in a book as much as I loved this one. Josh is the best man at his friend Brandon’s wedding and when he meets the maid of honor, Kristen, he is immediately drawn to her wit, humor, humor, ambition and “pretty girls don’t care”. Kristen, however, is in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Tyler, who is destined to return one day.
What Josh doesn’t know is that Kristen has mixed feelings about Tyler coming back and their plans to move in together for the first time. As Kristen and Josh grow closer, she is determined to keep him close for many reasons, starting with her commitment to Tyler and ending with her realization that Josh is wants a big family, something Kristen knows she won’t do. able to biologically revive him after surgery to give his body relief after years of pain and struggle. This book is romantic and smart and fun but also a little deep. I recommend it to anyone looking for a beach read who doesn’t mind the lack of space.
Elin Hilderbrand is my go-to author when I’m looking for a great beach read because she’s reigned supreme for years and for good reason. Hotel Nantucket is her latest novel and it’s a gem! I know this book may be a little “light” for some but it was exactly what I was looking for as we began our month away from home in Florida.
The Best Books I’ve Read So Far This Year (2023)
I thought the premise of the book was brilliant – one of the main characters was Grace, the ghost of a 19-year-old girl who was murdered in a Nantucket hotel in 1922 – and the reopening of the hotel made everyone in the island. happy. and more than a few doubters.
Lizbet Keaton and her boyfriend of 15+ years are Nantucket sweethearts until an unexpected divorce causes Lizbet to seek a fresh start. He gets the tough job of hotel manager at The Nantucket and is determined to transform the hotel into the first resort to earn a “5 critical” review from travel agent Shelly Carpenter. Instagram, a goal proposed by Xaviar Darling, the new (billionaire!) owner of the hotel. Jasmine Guillory is a favorite of those who love sweet and romantic stories but I must admit that The Wedding Date, the first book I read by this author, did not really impress me. Fortunately, a few of you encouraged me
