Life’s Journey To Perfection: 2 Great Easter Hunt Ideas For Youth And Families
We recently had a very enjoyable young women’s event organized by Rachelle Judson. It was a picture of an Easter egg hunt. This egg hunt was not for candy-filled eggs, but for biblical references to Easter. This activity can be used for youth groups, family home evening, or other family gatherings, etc. Here’s what you need to do:
Before the activity, print out the printables so that each group has an answer sheet and a scripture reference sheet. Cut out the scripture reference sheet and place everything in an egg. Number the eggs 1-12 to match the signs. Meet wherever you want your work base to be. Divide everyone into groups. We had five groups of 3-4 youths and a leader. Each group receives a basket filled with 12 eggs and a sheet of paper on which they can write their answers. Each group will also need scriptures and a camera (we only use our cell phones).
Each group will read their first clue and take it from the scriptures that they will need to go to neighboring houses to find the object and take a picture of the object. (If you live in an area where the neighborhood isn’t suitable for such an activity, you can have things that are only found in the chiefs’ houses, or you can hide things around a church or a park.) They will continue to lay eggs. , reading the scriptures and viewing the article and taking a picture. When they are finished, they must meet at the base of operations. You can then review the answers and pictures to see which group answered first and got them all right.
