Emeril Lagasse Takes Bite Size Steps Across The World
“I have been coming here for at least 25 years. I try to come here at least once, if not twice a year. And the people here at the Kahala were wonderful. When I came here last year for this event. , I could not believe not only the beauty, but also the amazing hospitality of the staff here and the people here. It made me want to come back. I try to do something Hawaiian in my show at least six times a year, just so I don’t lose my mind.
Sam Choy was a long time friend, Alan Wong, Roy Yamaguchi. This is a beautiful place, it is a good cable because the ingredients are very vibrant here, no matter which island you go to. People think that when they think of Hawaii on the mainland, they just think of pineapple or coffee, right? But there is such an amazing selection of products.
I had loco moco for breakfast this morning with very fresh and traditional fish. I’m telling you, in all the years I’ve been coming to Hawaii, I’ve never had a bad meal. So that’s saying something because the food is so fresh, the ingredients are so fresh, so interesting.

I have a new show coming out next Sunday April 18th on ION. It’s called The Emeril Lagasse Show. It will be Sunday night at 8 pm Eastern. And it’s more than cooking. It’s basically a big party. Of course I have my band, my band, not Doc Gibbs though. I have a new group. I have Dave Koz, a very talented musician from New York. We have great guests at every show and lots of good food but it’s fun. It’s like a big party. I think it will be a very good show.
(Where does “bam” come from?) You know where “bam” comes from – I always kicked it when I was doing TV, and that was really my way of boosting spice or reducing or increasing spice. Where “bam” comes from the early days of Essence of Emeril, which was like 15 years ago. Because of my restaurant schedule, I had to do a lot of shows at once. So I was taping eight shows a day. You do three, four, five shows and then as a food show you would break for lunch for half an hour or an hour. And of course everyone wants to eat what you’ve cooked in the last four or five shows. So you would cook it and they would come back and we would be ready to work. And everyone slept because they just ate a lot of food. So “bam” from waking everyone. That was kind of my message to wake everyone up and that’s where it started. And as people caught on to it, it grew and evolved more and more. up? How about ditching food TV altogether, and starting his own talk show. A few months ago, Emeril teased that he was circulating plans to start a weekly primetime show on a “major network” and today, Team Lagasse announced that ION Television has picked up the program, aptly titled The Emeril Lagasse Show .
