Google Play My Library – This morning, Google officially announced the launch of “Family Library” – a program that allows up to six family members to share their purchases from Google Play on different devices. This includes the ability to share movies, TV shows, books, apps and games on Android phones and tablets and, in some cases, on the web, iOS and other connected TV platforms such as Roku, Android TV, Smart TV and more .
The expected launch of Family Library has been rumored for months, and was originally announced to be released earlier in July.

Over the next few days, the service will be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the UK and the US.
How Do I Share An App On Google Family Library?
Along with the launch, Google is also expanding access to its Google Play Music family plan, which allows up to six family members to stream songs for $14.99 per month. Previously available in the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Brazil, Canada and Japan, the service is now available in Ireland, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand. Customers can now also check in on the web or through their Android device.
To get started with Family Library, users can access a new setting in the Play Store where they configure one person as a “Family Manager” and add other members. The Family Manager will be the adult in the family responsible for adding and removing members, and will also enter payment information where family purchases will be billed.
Member purchases will be shared with everyone by default, but there is also an option to choose to share items. That might come in handy for those times when no one wants to bother with Dad’s war movie collection, perhaps, or Mom’s cheesy rom-coms. Even if you share everything, you can still click on individual items and choose not to share them with the group.
Family Library also respects the parental control settings you’ve configured on your kids’ devices, so they won’t immediately have access to your R-rated movies, for example.
Google Play Comes With Family Sharing
Similar to Apple’s Family Sharing service, parents can approve purchases requested by younger family members. However, it is a bit fiddly to launch. After submitting the request, the parent will need to enter their password on the child’s device. However, this process should improve over time.
What makes Google’s Family Library different from Apple’s service is that Google Play is available outside of Google’s platform. In addition to being available on Android, movies, TV shows, and books are available through Google apps on the web and iOS. And you can watch movies and TV shows anywhere the Google Play Movies & TV app works, like Roku and smart TVs.
“Games by their very nature are available in multiple places, and we really think that’s important for user choice and flexibility,” said Eunice Kim, senior product manager for Google’s family initiatives at Google Play.
In addition, he added, the Family Library has flexible payment options. Although the credit card will be shared as a family payment method, members can always purchase items using their own payment methods, including gift cards and Google Wallet. Tv Episodes Are Missing In My Library

Google recently updated all of their first-party apps to their new “Material Design” style in preparation for the release of Android 5.0 (“L”). We’ve seen Google+, Chrome, the Play Store, and Play Newsstand get the update, but there’s still a lot more to do. Apparently, since the last Play Store update brought full Material Design, tapping on the title of the My Library widget (part of the Play Store app) shows new icons for all Google Play apps with the new Material Design style. Previously, Holo icons were displayed. What’s important here is that Play Music, Play Books, and Play Movies & TV are still getting material change updates, so this is actually our first official look at what are almost certainly Material Design icons for these apps. We hope to see updates using these icons soon! We know you love to theme and style your devices and many aim to create the perfect Android L look on their devices so we have sourced these icons to use with your custom launchers etc.

Rumors: Google Nexus 6 and 9 to launch tomorrow with Android announcement Blog Play Books gets the update it really needs[Update: Bug] Google Play Store is testing removing library and tabs installed from My Apps & Games
Google Play Music Update Adds “i’m Feeling Lucky Radio” Option
Update – April 14, 2020: A member of the Google Play team informed Android Police’s Artem Rusakovski that this change is a bug, not a feature.
Many of us must have downloaded hundreds of apps from the Google Play Store over the years on our Android devices. You don’t always keep all those apps on our phone, but if you want to reinstall any particular app that you previously had on our phone, you can easily find it on the Library tab in the My Apps & Games section of the Play Store.
The library makes it easy to find an application that was previously installed, and now you may not remember its exact name, but it is located in the list section and can be installed with just one tap.
But it looks like you won’t have this convenience and ease anymore as Google may remove the Library and Installed tabs from the Play Store and make the My Apps & Games section cleaner.
Google Brings New White Background Design To Google Play Store
There are currently four tabs in the My Apps & Games section of the Google Play Store, including Updates, Installed, Library, and Beta. The tabs show available updates for installed apps, currently installed apps, a list of all apps installed so far with that Google Account, and then the beta version if you’re currently signed in?
In the new update, Google is trying to clean up the My Apps & Games section by removing the Library and Installed tabs. A few days ago, Google rolled out an update for some of its users to the latest version of the Google Play Store (v. 19.5.13) where it shows the number of downloads and app size in the Play Store app search results. Although Google has not made any official announcement about this but it is expected to be a result of server side update.
It is still not clear if there will be any alternative option to find the previous apps you have installed on your phone from a specific account, hopefully we will find a way to find the previously installed apps. By the end of 2020, Google Play Music will join the ever-growing list of dead Google products. If you’ve been using the service to store music – one of its best features – you need to back up or transfer your songs now, because they’ll all be gone in a few months.
My Google Play Movies Is Not Loading At All, Shows Nothing On Home Screen, And Won’t Load Library
You can continue to use Google Music for a few weeks if you want, but Google will soon start removing its features. For example, according to Google’s timeline, you won’t be able to buy new music from the end of August.
In October (or September for users in South Africa and New Zealand), the app will stop working completely. However, your downloads, purchases and other data will still be stored in the cloud and available for download until December 2020. After that, the entire service will shut down and you’ll lose access to anything you haven’t already downloaded or uploaded—so why not download or upload everything now?
Google provides users with easy streaming tools on both desktop and mobile – and since YouTube Music and Google Play Music share the same servers and data, streams are completed quickly. We’ve previously covered both options here.
I chose the in-app method and it only took a few minutes to transfer my entire Google Play Music library to YouTube Music. As far as I know, everything was intact. To be fair, I only use Google Play Music occasionally and my library isn’t huge, so your experience may vary if you have a large collection.

This method downloads your uploaded and purchased songs from Google Play Music as MP3s. It also exports metadata for tracks, playlists and radio stations as .CSV files.
