Hallmark Christmas Movie Game – Looking to spice up your Hallmark Christmas movie viewing party or extravagant event? Check out these Hallmark Christmas Movie Drinking Playing Cards! This is not your mother’s Christmas movie drinking game. If you’re spending the holidays alone, you can use it to enjoy watching Christmas movies by yourself, or you can video chat with your loved ones and play games together.

I’m not a big fan of alcohol myself, so I plan to play these games mostly with spiced cider and/or Christmas cookies. While I love watching Hallmark Christmas movies during the holidays, even I am not immune to the clichés that pop up in every movie. To have fun with these clichés, I decided to turn all my Singers into drinking games. Again, you can consume any type of drink or food. There’s a board game for every type of Christmas moviegoer!

Choose this card if you’re in full Christmas mode. I’ve included some tips below, but mostly I’m just poking fun at these common Hallmark Christmas movies. All in good fun!

Someone says the name of the movie. Drink if a character says the exact and full title of the movie. “There’s a saying never kiss a man in a Christmas sweater, right?” Yes, drink. Do this every time you say the whole topic out loud.

A city person moves to a small town (x2: It’s the person’s hometown). This is a common trope in Hallmark movies in general, but especially in their Christmas movies. Get an extra drink if the small town is the town person’s hometown.

A town or character has a Christmas-themed name (x2: both true). Hallmark absolutely loves Christmas themed names. A city name North Pole or literally Christmas? drinking The character called Holly or Eve? drinking A character called Holly who comes to the North Pole city? Have two drinks.

There is a self-proclaimed “expert” on Christmas. If a character acts as a Christmas authority figure, whether it’s a coach or a Christmas decorator, have a drink.

The beautiful encounter takes place in many trees. What place is more romantic than the earth covered with different types of Christmas trees? We all know Hallmark likes to go country, so it should be clear that this includes planting trees.

The characters sing. I always wondered, does this still happen in real life? Because a lot happens in Hallmark Christmas movies!

The characters go on a romantic sleigh ride. Again, do people do this in real life? “Sleigh Ride” is my favorite Christmas song, but sleigh rides are more fantastic than real these days.

Why Netflix Christmas Movies Are Everything

Someone comments how real trees are better than fake trees. I agree with that statement, and I don’t mind saying it to every stranger I meet on a tree.

A small town has a big holiday event. Especially this year I am experiencing this tragedy. I love holiday fairs and festivals and especially miss them this year due to the pandemic.

Newcomer to town saves a small town Christmas. Ah, the white savior complex taken to the next level. However, it usually creates a real bond with the townspeople, so it’s all good in the name of Christmas.

The Hallmark Christmas Movie Drinking Game Has Returned

A cynic is full of Christmas spirit. This is probably one of the oldest tropes in the Christmas book. It can work or it can be very poor. Anyway, drink up!

There is a real angel. Sometimes those fairies heard above are true. I always find it (more) a little weird when Angel is a romantic interest.

Santa Claus or Christmas magic turns real. Aside from some unusual classics, I hate movies with real Santas. Even real Christmas magic gets really cheesy sometimes. I prefer “Christmas magic” to be a figure of speech rather than describing the wonderful human moments of the Christmas season.

City guy moves to small town. Does this happen often in real life? Not to clash with small town life, but city life is nothing to scoff at depending on the city you live in.

Go for this if you enjoy making fun of the corniness and common tropes in these movies. As much as I love Hallmark, I’m not blind to recycled storylines, nor am I immune to being offended by clichés.

One Scrooge makes Christmas miserable for everyone else. I usually never like a character who tries to make other people’s lives miserable at Christmas time.

Rekindling Christmas Movie Bingo Game

A worker plans to work for Christmas. Now this trope is one I can sympathize with more than being a real Scrooge.

There is an annoying child actor. This is a surefire way to fill out a promising movie. Some children try very hard to be beautiful. Others shout to express their excitement. And some seem to be reading their lines.

A character becomes a burden to take care of someone else’s children. This seems to be a recurring theme for Hallmark this year anyway

Lifetime Christmas movie. The worst offenders were parents who went on holiday at Christmas without their children

The current significant other is extremely obnoxious. Honestly, this trope usually makes people question the protagonist’s taste.

Some say the fog is offensive or poisonous. Apparently, this is a cute new thing to hang out with when it’s foggy.

Someone has an exaggerated reaction to drinking hot chocolate. I love anything with chocolate, but even I don’t have a ridiculous reaction or an unhealthy obsession with hot chocolate.

Baking cookies turns into a hilariously messy food fight. What a pain I have to clean it in real life! Do people really do this?

The characters Skate and Sappi fall into each other’s arms. This is probably the most popular comedy in the Christmas movie playbook.

Hallmark Christmas Movie Game: Play Bingo While You Watch

Someone says “It’s not a date” (x2: both characters say it). This is probably the most popular comedy of any rom-com.

A writer’s story is rewritten and published without his permission. I don’t know why, but this seems to be a popular storyline across Hallmark and Lifetime this year.

There is a kiss that lasts more than two seconds. I mean, how can you say there’s romantic tension between two characters?

Holiday Movie Bingo (+ Free Hallmark/christmas Movie Bingo Card!)

The lover is royalty. Trust me, you’ll have to keep your mouth busy from the start of the movie if you hope you don’t groan the whole way through. Luckily, Hallmark hasn’t aired many real old Christmas movies, so thank goodness.

If you watch all the Christmas movies produced by Hallmark, this playing card is for you! I belong to this group but personally I also use this card in a somewhat ironic way.

, I’m already starting to ignore the movie. The most annoying part of this trope is when someone says, “I broke up with you because I didn’t want to keep you.” How to talk to the person like an adult?

There’s a Hallmark regular (x2: lead actor played a villain in another Hallmark movie). Marcus Rosner. I never see him as a cheating ex-boyfriend.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year: Netflix And Disney Battle Hallmark For Christmas Viewers

A character battles a large corporation to save a small business. This can be used too much, but as far as writing goes it can look brand new.

The main characters are polar opposites (x2: they work together). I have no problem with opposites attracting. However, I disagree with all storylines where colleagues in the same department are clearly flirting. Two people competing for the same job fall in love… Hallmark really loves that storyline.

There is a fake relationship (x2: it’s a fake engagement). Also inappropriate, but it makes for great TV.

Hallmark Movie Christmas Party Game Ideas Fun For The Whole Family

Someone has a missed or diverted flight. This plot is surely popular among all Christmas movies. It may be over the top, but it’s not as annoying as other common tropes or stories.

Someone is wearing an ugly Christmas sweater (x2: There’s a sweater party). If you’re watching, you’ll have a blast with this one

The characters are forced to share a hotel room. Christmas movies on TV have disappeared from this in recent years, but in the past it was very popular.
