How To Draw Duck Easily – Whether you’re using ducks as your main subject or adding to the scene, waterfowl are so beautiful and fun to photograph! I like to sit by the pool and take pictures because they have a lot of space. They can be caught standing in the grass, splashing in the water or in full flight. After doing a few of these sketches, I started adding watercolors and our ducks really came to life. Now I would like to share with you my simple step by step plan for drawing and painting ducks.
Before we get into the steps, I would like to suggest some art supplies to help you make the most beautiful and realistic duck possible. I prefer to draw and paint with a professional pencil because it comes in several grades of pencils. In this image, I used an HB pencil to get a light and opaque line after painting over it. I also use heavier paper made specifically for watercolor painting. It is thicker than regular paper and stays nice and smooth even after it gets wet. As for the paint used, I really like watercolors for their vibrant colors and rich, creamy texture. A little goes a long way, which keeps me from wasting paint. Also, in this example, I used a small soft brush. It holds the paint well and allows me to make large blobs of paint as well as small details.

Then I connect the circle and the ellipse with a curved line to make the back of the duck and another for the neck and lower body. I count the right side of the oval and draw a straight line ending in a sharp triangular tail.

At the point where the head and neck meet, I draw the duck’s beak. I place a circular eye shape in the center of the head. Then I add wings and small tail feather marks. Now he really looks like a duck!
Now it’s time to add some details like pupils, eyebrows and nostrils. I block out the head shape and add wings to the wing. To make it look like he is sitting in the water, I added some water ripples underneath.
Before I start painting, I remove all the upper details of the building. Then, using Sky Blue, I color in the bottom of the duck and the areas I’ve already attached to the head.
How To Draw A Really Amazing Duck In 3 Minutes (for Fun)
I use Cactus Green and Orchid Purple to color the face of the duck. To get a soft blend of these two colors, I use the “wet on wet” technique when using Purple Orchid. This means I wet the paper above and below the green paint before adding the wet paint. This causes the paint to spread and blend. To sharpen the green near the chin, I add a little Cactus Green there.
Then I use a bronze color on the back and add some black mars on top to make it look like a round triangle. Mars Black I add the pupil and the right side of the head shadow.
I add Mars Black to a lot of water until it is almost transparent and paint it on the bill. To give the waves a watery look, I use Frosty Blue.

They hit aquatic plants with their heads underwater and their tails in the air. Some ducks sink and disappear completely underwater.
