How To Make A Floating Flower Centerpiece – I love having fresh flowers around the house (who doesn’t, right?), and it’s especially suitable if you have an event or gathering where you want to create a little space or just change your space a little for that party vibe. I usually just cut the wood and rely on a pretty vase (like this one!) to do it all for me, but making floating flowers for a table or centerpiece is actually really easy and oh so cute!
For floating flowers, it’s best to use flowers that are wide rather than long, so think ranunculus or open garden roses rather than traditional closed roses. I mixed mine with gerber flowers (any daisy would be nice too) for a little bit of variety and variety.
How To Make A Floating Flower Centerpiece
You’ll want to use a lightweight bowl or terrarium to set up a float so your flowers can spread out. The more surface area you have, the more effective your flowers will be. You’ll also need to pack a lot of stuff, so save a portion of the box from the next online store, or you can buy it online.
Fabulous Floating Wedding Centerpiece Ideas
Cut a small wrapped circle a little smaller than the size of your flower so you don’t have plastic sticking out the sides.
Cut a small “x” or hole with your scissors in the center of the circle and insert your flower into the hole. Cut a 3/4 inch flower and place your flower in the water to see if it floats!
The styrofoam will keep the flowers upright and floating on top of your flower pot, so keep making small skirts of styrofoam for each flower until the top of the pot is full. I also recommend cutting off some of your greenery and layering those plants in the same ball gown as you put in your flowers to give your arrangement a leafy arrangement. Once your cup is full, it’s time to put it on your table!

Nice!! Another good thing about this method is that it takes a few flowers to make a big impact because they have space to spread out instead of filling the vase, so you can make a few of these to put them around instead of a bag full. I also like to put the greens near the top of the bowl outside to get another look, and you can really put the bowl in the center of the “green” greens around the edges. I’m so happy that flowers are starting to appear all over the garden and trees!

For the first step, you need to measure the stem for the vase. Grab the top of the bag and use your wire to break the stem. Place the flowers in the vase to make sure they fit. Remember that you will be adding several inches of stuffing to the bag so leave an inch or two at the top of the bag. The artificial orchid is on a wire rack so you can bend it a little to fit or break any added wood. After you are satisfied with the height of the flower in the vase, you can remove it and put it aside.
TIP- Soak one of the flower heads in water 24 hours before the event to make sure the paint doesn’t soak into the water.
Cover the bottom of the container by filling the bag. We prefer broken glass, but you can use sand, shells, pearls, stones, etc.
