We had a chance to speak with star Madeline Leon about her roles, natural disasters and her favorite scenes.
Madeline: I think playing a tired and troubled woman is a challenge but also fun because she is our heroine. I think at the end of the day I wanted to do it right. We hope we made it!
Madeline: My favorite scene is the flashback scene where Lauren and Collin are running around the fair. Lauren’s mood suddenly changed. We start one way, and end up completely different which makes for a great game. There were some real jokes in this show!

Kat: “After the Storm” deals with the aftermath of Hurricanes – have you ever been through a natural disaster?
Madeline: I have never experienced a natural disaster. I feel very blessed to be able to say that. However, I went to New Orleans with the choir to sing in schools after Hurricane Katrina. This is a small trip to destroy these people. The heart is burning.
Madeline: I hope the audience can relate to the story in some way! Both Lauren and Colin are flawed human beings, and throughout the film we see them admit some of those flaws. I think everyone can relate to that. On a lighter note, I hope people enjoy the romance 😄

Madeline: My advice is to fill your life in many areas outside of the industry because work comes in waves. If you learn to ride these waves and appreciate them while you still do, you’ll be golden! I also recommend creating your own project! It’s fun and gives you a chance to show off your strengths. Madeleine Leon (Sarah) Thanks to these dedicated people, Madeline is able to do whatever she wants for a greater cause. He recently appeared at the inspiraTO festival, where he saw “Raghead”. He now runs an event in Toronto, and appreciates events like these that benefit the community in so many ways.
Aris Tyros (Nick) was born and raised in Montreal where he graduated from the Dawson Professional Theater Program. He recently presented JABBER (Geordie Productions) in Prince Edward Island, a play he enjoyed touring the country with last year. Other credits include DELIMAX (Teatron Teatron), HARRY THE KING (The Answer), CHATROOM / CITIZENSHIP (Toronto Youth Theatre), BILLY WIGGLESTICKS (Theatre Passe Muraille), and MRS. Tom Coash (playwright) A New Haven, Ct. American actor and director. Before New Haven, he taught drama for three years in Bermuda and four years at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. Coash’s plays have been produced around the world and have won numerous awards, including the 2015 “M. Elizabeth Osborn Award” from the American Theater Critics Association and being named a Finalist for the Steinberg/ATCA Award. His new play VEILS was also the recent winner of the Clauder Competition for New England Playwrights and won the Edgerton Foundation National New Play Award. His short story, RAGHEAD, will soon be published as one of Smith & Kraus’ “Top 10 Minute Plays of 2015” and has played in seven countries so far this year. Lena Slanisky (Co-Director, Director) As a child, Lena Slanisky was always involved in theater and never stopped showing love behind the scenes. After earning a writing degree at Dalhousie, he said goodbye to the blessed climate of Nova Scotia and returned to Toronto. His debut at the inspiraTO Festival gave Raghead a chance to revive. She is grateful for the honor of working with Cait Caulfiled, Jane Smythe, Redwood Women’s Shelter and thanks Tom Coash for trusting her with the role of such an important play. Madeleine León is a versatile and passionate dancer. He always strives to improve and learn new things in everything he does. She holds a degree in classical dance and a degree in Applied Mathematics from ITAM.
She is currently a soloist in the Far Alonso Ballet dance company where she performed the roles of Odette in Swan Lake and the Sugar Fairy in The Nutcracker. She recently discovered her acting career in theater directed by Jessica Sandoval and Far Alonso as Merrie’s mother in ‘Marie and her Nutcracker’ and Mina in ‘Dracula’.
His career as a dancer is expanding. He was a guest dancer for Tanz Company Innsbruck in Austria, where he danced to the musical ‘Hello Dolly’ at the Landestheater Innsbruck. In Mexico, he has been invited to classical and contemporary dance projects, tango, concerts, Latin rhythms,… and belongs to different companies such as Far Alonso Ballet Company, Ballet y Circo de Puebla, Ardentía Danza and Mosaico Ruso.

He has worked in films like Alejandro González Iñárritu’s ‘Bardo’ and in dance videos and advertisements for the Numismatic Museum. He worked as a dancer for Belinda and in music videos for Fabiola Finkmann. She has modeled for different brands such as: Dancer Made in Mexico, Marcela Barragán, Smash and independent designers. He has participated in commercials for: Tequila Loco, Fanta and Samsung.
