That’s smart. I made a very basic Advent calendar for my husband a few years ago (he felt lost when the kids opened their rooms each morning!) and just cut an old manilla envelope in half at thinking it would be something funny for us. do. If you have more than one person, I recommend making an Advent calendar for each child unless they are older so they don’t get upset if they don’t get a punch cup for a surprise every day!
To make an advent calendar, you must start by making the actual punch board. To do that, place your cups on the white board to figure out your design and the number of cups you need.
Make Your Own Holiday Advent Calendar Santa’s Sleigh Kit
I knew I wanted to make one cup every day until Christmas (including Christmas), so I made 25 cups – five rows of five cups each. You can also make a 4×6 or 6×4 design if you want only 24 days.
Once you have your design figured out, hot glue the bottom of the cup and place it on the hot glue side of the board below your design.
Continue until you have added all your cups to the board. Make sure there is enough space between the cups so you can add tissue paper later.

I like to specifically put the activities in the cups that correspond to the days we have planned. Like for example, we’re going to see the new Spiderman movie when it comes out on December 17th, so I put movie tickets in the cup for that day and tell the kids we’re coming when they open the cup for that day.
