Ornament Wreath – It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with the Dollar Tree…especially around the holidays. It really is a crafter’s dream store – because you can walk down every aisle and find a way to turn the ordinary into something beautiful!
In today’s episode of Dollar Tree DIY, we’re going to make a super easy wreath…but before we get into that, I have to say one thing. This moral is wonderful. Like… you’d never guess this bad boy was made out of nothing but dollar wood. Now that I’m off my chest… we can begin!
Ornament Wreath
Next, start gluing it to the outside of the wreath shape. Make sure the tops are pointing down! Continue doing this for the entire outer surface of the wreath. It’s okay if it’s a little messy now, we’ll take care of it!
Easy Diy Christmas Wreath Using Dollar Tree Ornaments
This is how it looks so far! If you have a small gap between your starting ornament and your ending ornament – that’s okay… we’ve got that covered too!
I don’t have pictures of this part, but it goes without saying… Do the same thing you did, but now – do it in the center of the wreath!
This is where decorations come into play! I found these golden berry picks (from the Dollar Tree of course) along with golden flowers… I just cut them off the stem and glued them to the wreath to fill in the gaps!

I am so excited to share this Christmas Ornament Wreath with you today. As I’ve mentioned many times here on the blog, I have a bit of an obsession with glass Christmas decorations. I’ve been collecting it for years. If I remember correctly, it all started with a rainbow Christmas tree. So of course, when I saw a few Christmas wreaths popping up online recently (shout out to The Makerista for posting about their thrift store adventures on her Instagram Stories), I knew I had to make one too. Here’s what I came up with: isn’t it beautiful? I really understand that this colorful and flirty look isn’t for everyone, but it makes my holiday heart sing. That’s why today I’m going to teach you how to make a Christmas wreath! DIY Vintage Christmas Ornament Wreath: Surprisingly, making a vintage Christmas ornament wreath is quite simple. However, I have a few tips to offer that will make the process easier. Shall we begin? How to make a Christmas wreath with ornaments: 1. You need ornaments. I decided to use all kinds of glass, mostly antique glass. I pulled a lot of trinkets from my collection and bought some at local thrift stores as well as Etsy and eBay. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind: Vintage ornaments seem to be in high demand these days, so getting them online can be expensive. I recommend going to your local thrift stores to get the best deals. Also, if you’re looking for vintage items for Christmas, plan ahead and shop online between May and August. It is unlikely that demand (and price) will be high. Besides being antique and glassy, I wanted most of the ornaments to be round. I also decided to use a color combination to create an eclectic look. Your view is likely to be different. You can follow the same procedure with unbreakable ornaments or ornaments in a specific color palette. Make your wreath unique. There are about 150 ornaments in my wreath. To get the perfect look, you need decorations of different sizes. 2. You need a wreath. I chose this ornament because it felt vintage to me, but a green wreath with needles that look like faux pine would work well too. A wreath made of the right material is important because you glue the decorations to it. Hot glue does not hold the glass in the glass. Such a garland gives the decorations something to attach to. 3. Once you have the supplies, start by cutting off 10-15% of the pine needles; Put them aside. Then, using the glue gun, start attaching the designs one by one to the wreath. 4. For most of the decorations, I put hot glue near the top (hangers) because I didn’t want them to show. Use hot glue on the decoration and gently press the wreath down. Make sure the hot glue on the ornament touches the ornament/pine needles to get the attachment you need. 5. I started by gluing the charms to a small section and then worked from there. Attach the large decorations first, then fill in the smaller ones. Once most of your other decorations are in place, save and attach your decorations. 6. When you start covering the wreath, it will be hard to find areas where you can attach tinsel/pine needle ornaments. Then you use the pine needles that you cut at the beginning. If necessary, push them between the decorations and fix them with hot glue. 7. I also found it helpful to turn the wreath over and add hot glue in different spots on the back of the wreath to make sure everything was secure. However, as you work, remember where you add the hot glue so it doesn’t show on the front of your wreath. 8. When the wreath is covered, check that everything is glued properly. (If you’re using glass ornaments, keep in mind that you’ll probably break a few along the way. It’s almost inevitable.) If there are places where things won’t hold together, add hot glue to a piece of reserved tinsel. / Pine needles and place them between the two decorations. This creates a stronger bond. 9. Finally, look at the wreath carefully and cut off any hot glue threads or tinsel/pine needles that may be sticking out. Then tie a piece of floral wire to the back of the wreath. Place the wire around the metal frame of the wreath to secure it securely. 10. Sit back and enjoy your handiwork! My friends, this is the step by step process I followed to make a Christmas ornament wreath. The whole project took about 2 hours and overall it went well. The only exceptions were a few decorations and one hot glue burn. Like this wreath?
