Prince Harry joked with the media days after his nephew’s birth, saying he would “make sure he has fun”.

When asked what he intended to do as an uncle, Harry said, “To make sure he gets a good education, keep him out of the way, and make sure he has fun. I’ll leave the rest leave it up to the parents.”

In an official statement for Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the couple said they were delighted to become grandparents.

“My wife and I are delighted with the arrival of my first grandchild,” the statement read. “It is an incredibly special time for William and Catherine and we are very happy for them on the birth of their son. Grandfatherhood is a unique time in a person’s life, as countless people have told me over the past few months, so I am very proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we look forward to the arrival of the baby in the near future.”
