Greetings from Orlando! I’m here a few days into the festivities celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. The first resort opened to the public on October 1, 1971. Things changed a lot over the next fifty years.
Rise Of The Resistance Hollywood Studios
I had time to spare on my first day here, so I took a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. This part of the park immerses you in the world of Star Wars and has two distinct attractions – Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance. Pat Tomasolo and I took a trip to Hollywood Studios a few years ago when both cars were being launched.
New Star Wars Experience Coming To Disney World
Rise of the Resistance is one of the most impressive amusement parks ever made. Before being captured by the First Order, you go through different parts of the show and join forces with the opposition. This is when you are in the First Order’s space and you have to escape. There are so many moving parts to this ride that it has made it stand through the days and changes to the ride.
When Rise first opened, guests had to look at their phones and try to get in the clear line. If you are lucky enough to be in the program, you can reserve a “residence class.” You were then told to return to the attraction whenever your night group was ready to ride. However, this means you’ll need to plan your day around this attraction, making sure you have enough time to get back to the Rise area when your night club is around the corner. and call.
In fact, many other people were not lucky enough to find rides after trips to Disney World that they were hoping to ride. Although queuing eliminated people waiting for hours to ride the attraction, it left many people disappointed that they could not ride it at all.
That all changed a few days ago, as Disney Parks announced that Rise of the Resistance will no longer offer existing lines and will continue to stand. This means you can queue to ride it like any other attraction. This is what I did on my visit yesterday.
Disney Drops New Rise Of The Resistance Footage
I arrived at the entrance to Rise of the Resistance at 3:15pm on a Tuesday. At that time, the trip was waiting for 75 minutes.
The line was moving slowly, but at a pace that really gave you a chance to look around at all the details the design team put into this attraction. As you accelerate through each corner of the queue, there are many details that draw you into the story of the ride.
They were even inventing places where you can live quickly! These are some of the things I didn’t realize until I had to stand in a real line.
In the Rise line, however, Disney has created a way to make standing a part of the ride. You enter the waiting room and Ray appears as a hologram to explain what is happening.
Massive Effect Missing On Rise Of The Resistance, Guests Devastated
Then you board the ship where you wait a lot, but there is also an element of drama here.
All of this happens before you get into the actual cars. Cast members play the role of the First Order, the bad guys who want to interrogate members of the (our) resistance. One of the actors went up to the children waiting in the corridor and asked them if they knew where the rebel base was. Another character chastises a father who disobeys orders almost as much as his children. Plus, they make waiting in line part of the fun.
The ride itself is a blast. As I said, Pat and I rode it before it opened, you can see our full thoughts and a video of the ride here….
This time I noticed a few changes. The big guns from the ship didn’t have much forward or backward range. Kylo Ren’s lightsaber doesn’t penetrate the ceiling above you. And Kylo Ren’s amazing animatronics at the end of the ride wouldn’t work and would be covered.

When it was all said and done, had has has has has has been a problem. I don’t have the stress of waking up in the morning and looking at my phone. I don’t spend all day looking at my watch or my schedule to see what the all-nighters are called. I’m sure the wait time will be longer on busy days, but the time I spent in line gave me more time to appreciate the details in line and enjoy the attraction.

With the introduction of the Disney Genie to My Disney Experience, we are testing the Genie+ and other Lightning Lane options at Walt Disney World. Of course, one of the most popular rides is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so this was one of the first attractions we rented at 7:00am.
Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance Allowed Guests Without Boarding Groups Into Standby Line For First Time Ever At Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At that time, we were able to set a time to return to Lightning Lane for 10:15am to 11:15am.
Availability of Lightning Lane is being updated, and the Advisory Board on My Disney Experience will indicate the next available time. At 9:15 a.m., the next window would start at 7:00 p.m.
