Fun Summer Activities For Kids In Nyc In 2023
There are not many cities in the world that can compare to the NYC Skyline at night, and of all the observation decks in New York City, the most famous is certainly the one at the top of the Empire State Building. It used to be the tallest building in New York City, but that title is now held by the new building at 1 World Trade Center. Still, the view of the city from here is incredible. Our favorite time to visit is at night. The viewing platform is open until 12 noon in the summer. Going late at night helps reduce the crowds while enjoying the neon lights that illuminate the city skyline. If you want to visit the Empire State Building during the day, we recommend getting there early to avoid the queues. But it’s really more beautiful at night.
For an absolutely incredible view of the Manhattan skyline, book a helicopter flight. Visiting New York is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so take advantage of it to see this enormous city from above.

Although I feel that the view of the skyline itself is better than the view of the Empire State Building, the view of the Empire State Building from here is breathtaking.
The view from the cliff lookout is the classic New York view we all see in the movies. Plus, it’s cool to visit because it’s home to the NBC studio. In the mornings, you can stand outside and watch the Today show, and if you really want to jump, you can try watching Jimmy Fallon’s tape. Make sure to book your tickets in advance as it can get very busy during high season.

The two 9/11 Memorial Pools sit at the base of twin towers that had names etched into the walls. Skyscrapers surround the pools and show how New York has rebuilt and stands with hope rather than hate.
Visiting the 911 Memorial Museum is something everyone should do. It shows the devastation and true impact of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States and the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. The 9/11 Memorial and Museum reminds us all that these senseless acts of violence only harm the innocent, but when tragedy strikes the best of humanity.

When visiting the museum, go to the viewing platform of the One World Observatory. It is the second highest observation deck in New York, offering 102 floors of panoramic views of the city. The Forever Theater has a glass floor called the Sky Portal and an audiovisual display.
There is an additional cost outside of your ticket to enter the One World Observatory, but the Memorial Museum is included in your Go City: New York Explorer pass.
The Edge has passed One World Observatory as the tallest observation deck in New York City, in fact it is the tallest outdoor observation deck in the Western Hemisphere. If you’re looking for a thrill, step outside the skyscraper and gaze over the 1,200-foot chasm from New York’s highest platform. The Edge is located in Hudson Yards.

It is New York’s most famous landmark, and in addition to learning about history, it also offers great views of the city. Planning a visit to the Statue of Liberty requires commitment and time. It takes several hours of your day.
If you visit New York during high season, you can stand in line for hours waiting to board the ferry. Even though we went in low season, we had to wait 45 minutes for the ferry to fill up. Battery Park is a 15-minute drive from Liberty Island.
Things To Do In Greenwich Village Nyc (from A Local!)
When you get to the Statue of Liberty, you can make an appointment to go up to the top of the Statue of Liberty (I did when I was 16) and walk along Lady Liberty for the best view of Manhattan.
There is a large museum here with the original flame on display. If this is your first trip to New York, you must take the time to see it because it is truly impressive and well worth the price. It’s a symbol of freedom in America, and it’s a good time to remind us all how fragile freedom is.
