The sequel to the best smartphone of the first half of 2019 is, unsurprisingly, the best phone at the end of 2019. The OnePlus 7T Pro is a small upgrade to the excellent OnePlus 7 Pro, keeping all the goodies, improving the camera and speeding up the fingerprint scanner.
The monster 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen runs at 90Hz – up from 60Hz on most competitors – arguably the best in the business. It is bright, sharp and very smooth, and free of holes and grooves for the camera. The selfie camera pops out from the top on command – always a crowd pleaser.
The 7T Pro is the fastest feeling phone – everything zips. It has Qualcomm’s flagship chip, the Snapdragon 855+, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of fast UFS3.0 storage – enough for everything. The in-display optical fingerprint scanner is even faster than before, still putting the competition to shame.

The latest OxygenOS 10, the company’s slick version of Apple 10, is arguably the best in the business as well, and it gets updates there for three years.
The triple camera system on the back is also good, combining a 48 MP main camera, a 16 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 MP telephoto camera. New to the 7T Pro is the Super Macro mode, which captures amazingly good, sharp images just 2.5cm from the lens – great fun. The 7T Pro can’t top the iPhone 11 Pro or the Pixel 4XL, but it’s equal or beats the rest in terms of experience and usability.
The 7T Pro lasts about 32 hours between charges, making it one of the best performers. Recharging is very fast through the company’s WarpCharge system, reaching 70% in just 34 minutes via cable. But there is no wireless charging.

Support for two SIM cards can be useful for work or travel. It is water resistant to some degree, but does not have an IP rating. There is a McLaren limited edition and 5G version in the US, but not in the UK, where the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is still the latest model.

Good things come in small packages. The iPhone 11 Pro isn’t the biggest or most expensive of Apple’s 2019 smartphones, but it’s the best and probably the best phone of the year.
The iPhone 11 Pro combines a stunning, large enough 5.8-inch screen, a soft, premium feel, top-notch performance and battery life to match most of the competition.
To be honest, the design hasn’t been paid for since 2017’s mold-breaking iPhone X. The back is frosted glass, it looks great in silver, and there’s a triple camera cluster in the left corner. The rest remain unchanged.

If you want the Android sweet spot between a big, beautiful screen and a small, easy-to-hold and portable phone, the Galaxy S10 is it.
The 6.1-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with a small punch notch on the top right is one of the best on the market and is large enough to get the most out of apps and movies.
The smaller bezels make the phone more compact compared to its competitors, and it’s also lighter. It’s still a glass and metal sandwich, which means you’ll probably need a case to protect it from drops.
Iphone Battery Life Compared: How Does The New Iphone Se Stack Up?
The Galaxy S10 has been recently updated with Samsung’s One UI 2 software based on the latest Android 10, including a completely redesigned navigation system. You should get at least three years of software support from Samsung’s release, although the company is usually slower than Google and OnePlus to deliver major Android version updates.
The rear triple camera is great because it allows you to zoom from 0.5x to 2x and then up to 10x hybrid zoom. It won’t beat the Pixel 4 XL or the iPhone 11 Pro, but it will get the job done. The selfie camera extends straight across the screen and is one of the best on the market.
Performance is good but battery life is limited, it lasts a day but not much. The low-profile ultrasonic fingerprint sensor has proven to slow down and fade over time, which can be annoying.

The best camera on the phone by some measure is the Huawei P30 Pro. Even at the end of 2019, there is no combination as perfect as Huawei’s new Leica quad camera.
